The Church Choir at Aston Ingham differs from many church choirs in that it does not sing regularly at weekly or monthly services but, in a sense, is a ‘special’ choir whose members come together for perhaps four or five important festivals in the Church’s year - for example at Easter, Harvest and Christmas - and also on other occasions such as the Open Gardens Weekend, weddings, etc.
Currently the choir has about sixteen members, who meet in the Church on Tuesday evenings from 6.45 to 7.30 p.m. for the six or seven weeks before each service at which the choir is to sing. The next occasion on which the choir will be singing in the Church will probably be for the annual Harvest Thanksgiving service in October. Details of music to be sung, rehearsal dates, etc. will be made known as soon as possible.
The choir is accompanied by the Church Organist, May James, and conducted by Choirmaster, Anthony Butcher.
