The Church of St. John the Baptist, Aston Ingham
The Parish of Aston Ingham is one of six parishes in the Benefice of Ariconium, under the pastoral care of the Vicar, Neil Patterson.  It is a traditional rural parish, noted for the Lawson-Whatley family, who were hereditary Rectors from 1785 until 1964.

The church was mostly rebuilt in 1891, but some parts of the building retain small links with its 12th and 13th century origins.  Also from the 13th century are two carved coffin lids, possibly linked to the Eston family, although they are thought by some to date from c.1300 depicting figures of priests.  Probably the church’s most valuable and notable feature, a rare lead font, dates from the 17th century – one of only 38 such fonts in the country.

The church hosts a variety of services through the year and particularly notable is the large occasional choir gathered from the area who sing on special occasions, when the church is often full.
